Competency Documentation Option


Competency verification provides an alternative to completing coursework for scholar's who previously taken a course or courses at other institutions which address the objectives for ECTS 504.  Competency verification is just that.  Scholars offer documentation in the form of transcripts and an electronic portfolio of work from the class for which credit is requested to verify they already posses the skills identified in the course objectives through previous coursework and implementation in their teaching.   504 uses a Socratic format through scholarly debate.  To receive credit through competency documentation scholar must demonstrate critical thinking at the highest level of Bloom's taxonomy in all three domains and write a university level commiserate with Upper Division Expository Writing 306.  Scholars may be required to complete and participate in one or more assignments at the instructor's discretion if competency is not demonstrated.
