F--falls short of assignment, lots of errors, carelessness in writing; no or confusing thesis
D-falls short of the assignment (development of ideas or in page length); murky thesis, sloppy errors
C--follows the assignment; few errors in grammar, clear thesis (5 pages)
B-follows the assignment and reveals insight; few errors in grammar, clear thesis
A-follows the assignment and reveals insight and goes beyond expectations; no errors in grammar, sophisticated and clear thesis
